Music For Mushrooms Documentary Screening Plus Q&A with East Forest (Second Showing)

Musician East Forest embarks on a mission pairing music with psychedelics to bring about transformative healing to a world in crisis.

Music for Mushrooms is a narrative documentary highlighting the personal journey of shamanistic musician and filmmaker East Forest (Krishna-Trevor Oswalt) – a collaborator of the late Ram Dass – whose bold experiments pair music with guided psychedelic experiences to create spaces of healing for a fractured world.

The film captures East Forest as he discovers a practice of guided ceremonial concerts that offer participants an immersive environment to confront their pain and fears, fostering hope, and moving them to re-engage with their own true north.

Having personally grappled with the profound sense of chaos and despair that permeates the modern world, Oswalt documents an exploration of the synergistic power of music paired with psychedelics.

Containing intimate emotional encounters with individuals whose lives are changed through experiences with music, spirituality, nature and psychedelics, Music for Mushrooms is a highly resonant ode to the transformative potential of art and introspection in a world aching for healing, enlightenment, and togetherness.

This is a 18+ event.

*A portion of proceeds from this event support PORTAL – a 501(c)(3) dedicated to destigmatizing the responsible use of psychedelics.

How can I attend Bicycle Day?

Entry to the Bicycle Day event is exclusive to PORTAL members which allows us to offer a truly special experience that’s not available to the general public. To join us for this one-of-a-kind celebration, we invite you to become an annual member of PORTAL. Membership not only grants you access to Bicycle Day but also to a series of other unique events and benefits throughout the year.

PORTAL (aka Partnership of Responsible Trippers Advocating for Legalization) is an initiative to destigmatize the responsible use of psychedelics. PORTAL hosts regular events in Denver. You’ll also catch PORTAL at venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre, along with other pop ups and digital campaigns with your favorite artists, festivals & more. Additional info on the membership will be announced soon.

Bicycle Day, observed every April 19th, commemorates the day in 1943 when Swiss chemist Dr. Albert Hofmann first intentionally experienced the psychedelic effects of LSD after ingesting it and riding his bicycle home from his lab. Celebrated globally, Bicycle Day honors the discovery’s impact on understanding consciousness and promotes ongoing research into psychedelics’ therapeutic potential. This year, PORTAL is throwing a Bicycle Day event like none other at Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station in Denver. Learn more about Bicycle Day in this video from our friends at DoubleBlind.

More than that, it’s an immersive experience. We’ve selected exceptional artists to perform, creating a dynamic environment that encourages guests to explore the entire Meow Wolf exhibit, rather than remaining at one stage or in a single room.

We recommend you just bring yourself and wear whatever makes you feel joy. Please see Meow Wolf’s Code of Conduct and Prohibited Items here.
